The new RTA costs regime, which is designed to streamline low value road traffic accident claims, began on Friday 30th April 2010. In preparation for this the Ministry of Justice launched a website to provide information on the electronic portal which will support the electronic exchange of information under the new process.
The new electronic portal is the result of a collaboration between claimant lawyers, insurers and compensators. It has been developed in conjunction with the Ministry of Justice and is designed to enable swift electronic exchange of all relevant claim information and related documentation between lawyers and insurers/compensators. This should result in key decisions being communicated more quickly and a reduction in duplication. The new process is designed to reduce operational costs and enable the insurer/compensator to agree settlement of claims more swiftly.
Has anyone experienced any problems with setting up an account in order that they can use the electronic portal?
